Role-Playing-Game (RPG) A game in which the participants assume the roles of fictional characters. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, players have the freedom to improvise; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the game. -Wikipedia

RPG Forum Rules

The RPG Forum is part of the Animal Crossing Forums, and as such, ALL of its main rules apply here. You may have two threads dedicated to a particular RPG, A Sign-up thread and an actual RP thread. RPG's can be about anything. Whether it be a book, game, or your own idea. But please give adequate information about the plot or whatever you are basing it off of, so RPGers will know what is going on in your particular RPG.

Respect every member's thoughts and ideas. Nobody has rights over a particular idea, regardless of who thought it up first. Please treat all members with the same respect you would want to be treated with. Everyone is entitled to rights but please don't abuse them.

As an Original Poster(OP)

The right to deny anyone who doesn't reach their/the RPG's standards
The right to deny anyone who you feel won’t do well in the RPG
The right to ask for reasonable changes in someone's character
The right to retain all rights and control over their RPG
The right to later deny or remove someone from their RPG

As a Sign-Up

The right to be treated equal to everyone else
The right to politely question the Original Poster
The right to a reason if turned down
The right to contact a Moderator if unfair play is suspected
The right to retain all rights and control over their characters, when it does not contradict the rules of the original poster.

As stated in the rules...

Markup Abuse
You may not post using excessive markup.

Markup as in posting in one color is looked down upon anyway as some people are color blind. Markup as in emoticons are not allowed AT ALL in the RPG Forum.

Bunnying is taking control of another person's character and making them do or say things without the permission of the original creator. It is not advised to do this without the character's "owner" permission as it would most likely lead to flaming or other unethical behavior.

Using any part of the work that somebody else wrote up is unacceptable NO MATTER WHAT. Whether it’s a member on another site, part of a novel or even Wikipedia, if it’s not your own words then you cannot post it, even if you give credit. Paraphrasing(Look it up if you don't know) is looked-down upon unless you paraphrase really well.

Images can be displayed in the RPG Forum using [img][/img] tags. This is not to be abused in any way. Doing so will result in a verbal warning, followed by RPG closure if it continues. If it is abused to much it will be removed permanently.

Sign-Up Rules

If you are interested in an RP, but don't have the time to make a sign-up on the spot, you can reserve a place in the RPG and type your sign-up at a later time.

Accepted, Pending, Denied

These are the three responses you can get when making your sign-up.
Accepted - It's accepted. Yay for you.
Pending - Needs some tweaking, so it can achieve acceptedness.
Denied - Your sign-up was denied, which usually means you can try another character or just quit altogether.

In conclusion, It'd be in your best interest to abide these rules or consequences will indeed follow. If you have any questions/comments about the rules please post here.

Best regards,
